You might not expect Gestalt psychology to have any relation to the field of web design, but the truth is that there is a relation and one that is pretty strong. As web design developed tremendously in the past few years, it should come as no surprise that more and more people have learned about the theory of mind and the gestalt effect, the latter appealing to our senses and helping us see an image as a whole and not as a set of unrelated elements.
There is one design style that can withstand the fluctuating trends that come and go in the design world, and that is to have a clean, simple, minimalist site.
Think of sites like Apple, Amazon, and The New York Times. One thing you will notice that they all have in common is perfectly executed use of white space. However, there are some very subtle guidelines to follow or tips that you should consider when designing your own clean website.
Getting your designs approved by clients in a timely manner is vital to smoothly managing any project. But it’s often more than just getting approvals. There’s often feedback, comments, notes, and other considerations you need to deal with during the process. Managing all that becomes a lot more difficult than simply getting a client to sign off.
